South Sudan women’s social and Economic Empowerment project

Development Objective:
The project development objective is to increase girls and women’s access to livelihood, entrepreneurial and GBV services and to strengthen the government’s capacity to provide these services.
The development objective of Women’s Social and Economic Empowerment Project for South Sudan is to increase girls and women’s access to livelihood, entrepreneurial and Gender-based violence (GBV) services and to strengthen the government’s capacity to provide this service.
This project has four components.
  1. The first component, Community Empowerment Support to Women and Girls, aims to support an increase in women’s and girls’ access to social and livelihoods support services through a community-based approach focusing on the construction of Women’s Economic Community Center (WECCs), which will offer a core package of integrated services in women and girl friendly spaces.
  2. The second component, Women’s Entrepreneurial Opportunity Facility, will focus on women owned SGBs. 
  3. The third component, Services for Survivors of GBV, has the following sub-components: (i) National GBV Hotline and Coordination; and (ii) A Safe House Facility for Survivors of GBV.
  4. The fourth component, Institutional Strengthening and Project Management, has the following sub-components:     (i) Institutional Strengthening; and (ii) Project Management.
