The Ministry of Gender Child and Social Welfare held a National conference on the protection of
children in South Sudan, under the theme : Together for the protection of the best interest of the child in
south Sudan.
The conference brought together different stakeholders and government officials from the 10 states and
2 administrative areas of South Sudan.
“We are obliged by our commitment as the primary duty bearers and the supporting agencies, to
protect children in south Sudan. This conference therefore, is just one of the milestones achieved in the
implementation of the Action Plan on Children and Armed Conflict” said the Minister of GCSW, Hon Aya
Warille while making her remarks.
This conference was supported by UNMISS and the minister of GCSW thanked them for their continued
support to ensuring the children are protected.
