This year’s International women’s day was celebrated across south Sudan where many people from all walks of life attended.
The Global theme was ” “Gender equality today for a sustainable tomorrow” while South Sudan commemorated the day under theme :“Break the bias and celebrate women and girls’ achievements and resilience.”
As people celebrated globally, the ministry of Gender took this opportunity to celebrate, appreciate and award 3 remarkable women from the greater regions in recognition of their exceptional contribution in inspiring and empowering women and girls in south Sudan
- Mrs.Florence Hawa Labana
- Mrs.Victoria Athou Kuoirot Deng
- The late Mama Teresa Samuel.
The women led organizations and networks were also recognized for their remarkable work.
This event was organized by the ministry of Gender, Child and social Welfare and was supported by partners and stakeholders.
