Hon. Ndefu holds a Bachelor of Science in Economics from the Catholic University of Eastern Africa (CUEA) in Nairobi, complemented by professional training in Gender‑Based Violence prevention and response, Information and Communication Technology, and Peacebuilding. This multidisciplinary foundation equips her with strong analytical capacity and a strategic approach to policymaking, particularly in economic governance, public sector reform, and social protection.
Her professional journey spans government administration, the justice sector, civil society, and international humanitarian operations. As a former ICT Specialist in the Office of the Commissioner of Nzara County, she played a key role in modernizing administrative systems, improving coordination, and enhancing service delivery at the local government level. Her tenure strengthened institutional efficiency and transparency at a critical time in the county’s development.
In the legal sector, she served as Secretary of the South Sudan Bar Association in Juba, contributing to professional coordination, institutional management, and legal advocacy. Her civil society experience includes serving as Secretary of Black Arrow, a national NGO, where she supported governance processes, humanitarian programming, and community‑based development initiatives.
Her humanitarian experience is further grounded in her work with the International Medical Corps (IMC), South Sudan Programme, where she served as a Warehouse Officer. In this role, she ensured full compliance with donor standards, strengthened logistics and accountability systems, and upheld operational integrity, skills that continue to inform her leadership in government.
As a Member of the National Transitional Legislative Assembly and a cabinet‑level minister, Hon. Ndefu brings a thoughtful, principled, and solutions‑oriented voice to national decision‑making. She is a strong advocate for gender equality, the protection of women and girls from violence, the rule of law, and inclusive socio‑economic development. Her leadership is marked by a commitment to ensuring that national policies reflect the needs of communities, especially those affected by conflict and displacement.
